Sermons (1768-1805), many concerning the American Revolution, but some also delivered before and afterwards, often patriotic in nature; correspondence; petition to Congress (1791) concerning a Revolutionary monument; account book (1751-1785); Constitution of Massachusetts, annotated and signed by Clarke; inventory of real and personal property (1805); and other papers. Includes letter from Clarke accepting call from the church at Lexington (1755 July 2); extracts from town records concerning supply for Clarke when his family had smallpox; address by Rev. Carlton Staples on the anniversary of the ordination of Rev. Jonas Clarke (1882); brief memorandum on the ancestors of Jonas Clarke (author unknown); letter (undated) to Miss Sarah Elizabeth Clark Eaton from Elizabeth Clark concerning the gift of a spoon; copy of letter (1842) by Miss Nancy Pierce of Gloucester, while a student at Lexington Normal School describing a visit to Elizabeth and Sarah Clarke at the Hancock-Clarke House; deed (ca. 1660) to tract of land in Roxbury, Mass., bought by Hugh Clark, great grandfather of Jonas Clarke; autograph letter (1803 Oct. 17) from William Clarke, in Amsterdam, to his father, Rev.
